Pretty Shield walked the plains of the Rocky Mountains at the turn of the century, sharing the wisdom and teachings of her Crow ancestors.
The Pretty Shield Foundation (PSF) was created by Alma Snell, her granddaughter, and William F. Snell Jr., her great-grandson, to continue the dedication to this traditional knowledge. Bill Snell is Executive Director of InCare Network.
Serving over 20,000 Indian youth and their families in Montana, PSF American Indian Division uses traditional, holistic methods of healing, such as storytelling, tipi encampments, and connections to tribal elders and spiritual traditions. Balancing of the spirit, mind, and body promotes the healing of abused, neglected, and deprived children.
